Have you ever thought about getting Family Christmas Photos done?

It’s the time of year I start seeing posts popping up asking about Christmas Sessions in the local Facebook groups, and it got me thinking about why these sessions are so important.

Lets go over all the reasons I believe these sessions are important:

1.Creating Lasting Memories

Christmas sessions with me are meant to create new and lasting memories with your family. Spending time with our loved ones is one of the greatest joys in life, so when you take a moment to document these moments you will be able to look back on them yearly to remember all the love and joy you have for each of them.

2. To Celebrate Being Together.

In this day and age we often find ourselves spread thin all over the place, and rushing around to do everything. It’s easy to forget the importance of spending time together as a family. A photo session helps encourage each family member to spend some intentional time with each other. It helps foster connections with each other all while creating shared experiences.

3. Documenting Your Family

This is probably one of the main reasons why any type of Family Session is important. Life speeds by us so fast, before we know it our kids have grown older. (Just the other day I was watching my son in the playground at school and I realized that he is no longer in the category of “young Kidd on the playground”. This blew my mind! How on earth did this happen so fast? And where has my little munchkin gone?). When you take the time to document your family yearly you can see how your family is evolving. You can look back at these times to see your family as they grow in their personalities and marvel at the memories that come along with each of these sessions.

4. Spreading Joy and the Christmas Spirit.

Each year I love opening the mailbox and receiving Christmas cards with family photos. I love seeing how my friends' families are growing, and I am reminded of all the love and warmth of spending time with my family.

5. Building Family Traditions.

By doing yearly Family Christmas Sessions you are building a tradition and installing the importance of spending time with each other. You are being intensional with carving out space to grow closer as a family, and documenting it to help preserve those memories.
